PARTICIPANT STORIES
ELIJAH'S PROGRESS STORY
This year, we’ve had the privilege to support our client (Elijah’s) post-injury return to sport and community participation. It’s especially rewarding to see the stories of growth like his and the momentum which is occurring in his life.
Our aim will always be to understand our client’s needs, goals and passions, which enables us to design the progressive functional fitness training that supports their desired community participation in sport, fitness and recreation.
TIM'S COMMUNITY ACCESS STORY
Tim has recently moved into a new home, a new community and is seeking and making independant and positive choices on the way he participates in his local community which focuses on his passions.
Having had a sporting background from a young age Tim loves sport participation’s many social and competitive rewards. Seeking expertise support to engage with sport, recreation and community participation opportunities in his local area, we were thrilled to have Tim connect with us at Progresiv.
Through ongoing discussion and planning we established bowls (which he had played when he was younger for some fun) would be an ideal match, being a mix of socialisation and something with a competitive edge.
Tim’s bowls journey to date has supported linkages with Bowl’s Australia for introductory coaching, involvement with New Farm Bowls, and organised loan of specialised sports equipment through Sporting Wheelies and disabled association.
Progresiv continue to support Tim’s journey to be involved in bowls as well as improvements to his functional body movements through health and fitness sessions and some additional goals he has in life!
WHY WE
DO IT?
Anchor 1
"In the past I have seen or spoken with people with a very strong interest in following through with sporting or community based activity... but due to a lack of appropriate support, at the right time or place, interest and progress stifles or falls through altogether.
Progresiv seeks to bridge existing gaps between individuals and their potential. To build the skills and confidence in people to live their passions."
- Ben MacFie (Progresiv Head Trainer/Director)
